April 2019 at the Libraries of Woodbridge Township

WOODBRIDGE – 

• March 30 – April 6 Money Smart Week Money Smart Week® is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. This is achieved through the collaboration and coordinated effort of thousands of organizations across the country including businesses, financial institutions, schools, libraries, not-for-profits, government agencies and the media. These groups come together once a year to stress the importance of financial literacy, inform consumers about where they can get help and provide free educational seminars and activities throughout the week. Programming is offered to all demographics and income levels and covers all facets of personal finance from establishing a budget to first time home buying to estate planning.

April 1 7 PM at the Woodbridge Main Library – Income Tax –  Woodbridge native, Andy Panko, will provide an overview of the income tax system

• April 2 7PM at the Iselin Branch Library – Are You Ready to Buy a Home? –        Real Estate Agents Elena Hung-Shum & Woodbridge Township resident, Dan D’Alessandro of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services and ISLES Asset Building  Coordinator will work with you to generate and follow a plan that takes the guess work out of making the home buying decision! 

• April 3 1PM – 3PM at the Woodbridge Main Library – Investment Fraud. Learn about the FREE tools The New Jersey Bureau of Securities provides to protect your family’s assets

April 4 7PM at the Fords Branch Library – Maximizing Social Security Benefits – Woodbridge native, Andy Panko, will provide an overview of the history of the Social Security program

• April 4 1:30PM-2:30PM at the Woodbridge Main Library – Managing Your Medications. – Learn simple strategies to help manage your medications to prevent missed or double doses, side effects, and drug interactions.  Please bring your medications for a one-on-one consult with pharmacists from Hackensack Meridian Health – Raritan Bay after the presentation.

• April 11 6PM at the Woodbridge Main Library – Yoga for Beginners – Representatives from the Isha Foundation will provide an introduction to yoga and its benefits. 

• April 15 7PM at the Woodbridge Main Library – Successful Gardening in Small Spaces 

Presented by This workshop will explore square foot gardening, a type of gardening that concentrates on a small, clearly defined area and incorporates the use of compost. Container gardening will also be discussed. Presented by a representative of Master Gardeners of Middlesex County

• April 18 7PM at the Iselin Branch Library – Meet the Author: Sarada Chiruvolu – Home at Last is an autobiographical account of Sarada Chiruvolu’s spiritual quest for self-realization in the midst of a successful pharmaceutical career. Copies of her book will be available for purchase at the event!

April 25 7PM at the Iselin Branch Library TEDxWoodbridgePublicLibrary Growing A Culture of Lifelong Learning – The independently organized event, licensed by TED, will feature local voices and TED Talks videos under the theme of Growing A Culture of Lifelong Learning

• April 30 7PM at the Woodbridge Main Library – Accounting Basics for Small Businesses – Mentors from Central Jersey SCORE will help you understand the basic must haves for your business’ financial health, including how to avoid the dreaded cash flow trap.
