Movie Review: Captain Marvel

By: Anton Massopust III

“I have nothing to prove to you.”

The Kree are an alien race that are trying to expand their Empire that spans part of the galaxy. A young girl Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) thinks that she is a Kree Warrior. She goes on a dangerous mission to stop a group of shape-shifting aliens called The Skrulls. When the Kree’s mission is compromised, Danvers is captured by the Skrulls and experiences flashback memories. Danvers escapes and finds herself on Earth in the 1990’s. She runs into a young Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) who is an Agent of Shield. They team up in order to find out what the Skrulls are planning and along the way she finds out who she really is. Everything she has been told is a lie. Even the Skrulls are not as they seem.

The Captain Marvel Movie is fun and not just for comic book fans but for anyone who likes a little bit of spy versus spy or alien intrigue. Young girls will like this and even boys will, because there’s plenty of superhero action and it moves very fast. Captain Marvel doesn’t let up. I can’t tell you too much more about the plot because then it’ll spoil it all.

The he actors are great. Larson who plays Captain Marvel is terrific as this new superhero who is joined the roster of Captain America, Thor, and the rest of the Avengers, so stick around for the ending credits to see more about what next is in store for this superhero. In the beginning of the film during the opening credits you see all of Marvel Creator Stan Lee’s cameos. The graphics and special effects are first grade and you can take everyone to it because they’ll all have a good time. If you get ready for Avengers: Endgame definitely check out Captain Marvel.
