Vaccines to be Made Available for Perth Amboy School District Staff

PERTH AMBOY – The Perth Amboy School District, in collaboration with the City of Perth Amboy, the Middlesex County Health Department, and Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, has secured some vaccines for Perth Amboy Public School District staff.

According to a letter jointly issued by Superintendent of Schools, Dr. David A. Roman,  and Mayor Helmin Caba on March 19, the allotment of vaccines will be in increments. The first allotment is being offered to staff as early as the week of Monday, March 22, 2021. Other allotments will be offered every week soon thereafter.

The Board of Education welcomes the opportunity to quickly get these vaccines in the hands of those who need it the most. They will be working closely with the City of Perth Amboy’s Office of Emergency Management to confirm the vaccination schedule at Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy and will contact staff members via telephone to advise them of appointment times.

The Human Resources department will contact those who answered a survey saying that they were interested in receiving the vaccine through the district, and will call staff based on priority groups already pre-established using other national vaccine related protocols.
